The Voyager 105 USB modem will not work with Windows Vista.
1. Before you begin
This guide will take you through setting up your Voyager 105 USB modem from scratch and applies to Windows versions up to Windows XP.
Make sure your broadband connection is up and running before you set up your USB modem - we'll email you when it's ready.
2. Connecting Microfilters & Cables
Microfilters
Microfilters look small and unimportant but theyre essential for keeping your phone and Internet services from interfering with each other. Without microfilters you'll see poor speeds and connection drops
- Plug a microfilter into each telephone socket that's used at your property
- If you had to unplug something you can plug it back into the Phone socket of the microfilter
- If you need more filters, you can order them from us or buy them from most electrical or computer stores
- See our Guide To Fitting Microfilters if you need more help with this
Cables
- Plug the grey broadband cable into the microfilter socket marked ADSL
- Plug the other end of the cable into the DSL socket on the back of the modem
- Leave the blue USB cable alone until you're asked to connect it in the next step.
3. Connecting to your Computer
Insert the Voyager 105 installation CD.
When the menu appears, click Install Drivers (Figure 1).
You'll see the Getting Started screen. Read the 10 points before clicking on Install Drivers (Figure 2).

You'll be asked to plug your modem into an available USB port in your computer. Your computer will then detect the new hardware and complete the installation of your modem. You will then be asked to restart. If you're running Windows 98SE, the Windows installation disk may be required to complete the modem installation.
[Top]4. Connecting to the Internet
Double click the Voyager 105 ADSL Modem connection icon in the bottom right corner of your screen (Figure 3).
This will open the Modem Control Panel (Figure 4), click Connect.
In the connection window that appears, type in your Broadband Username and Password and click Connect (on some computers this will be Dial).
- Find your Broadband Username under Connection Settings in the Member Centre.
- The Password is the one that you use to log in to this website.
Congratulations, you are now connected to broadband!
